Farmers’ Congress
October 5, 2006The Coalition of Blue Collar Workers headed by Founding Chair Joseph Gadit sponsored the recently held FARMERS’ CONGRESS last September 23, 2006 at the Ben Palispis Hall at the Benguet Provincial Capitol.
The congress was attended by more or less 150 participants from the different provinces in the region.
The advocacy of the Farmers’ Sector is equality and equity. They look forward to a harmonious and a productive relationship with other farmer organizations in the region so that they can network in terms of project implementation and activitiesd that would uplift the state of farmers in the CordilleRA.
Mr. Ceasar Rodriguez, DA-CAR Director, was the keynote speaker. He talked about his experiences with farmers not only in the Cordillera but in other regions as well. He also said that farmers from the Cordillera can speak english well.
Dr. Rogelio Colting, BSU President, gave a message during the afternoon session and at the same time inducted the offers of the Farmers’ Sector.
